- A typical home system is installed in 1 to 3 days once material is on site; DISCOM approval, inspection and net meter take extra time.
- Solar panels keep generating for about 25 years. In dusty areas such as Belgachhia, cleaning every 2 to 4 weeks keeps output high.
- PM Surya Ghar (homes): Rs 30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and Rs 18,000 for the third kW, up to Rs 78,000 for 3 kW and above. Rules change, so always confirm the latest amount and eligibility.
- On-grid systems use the grid as backup and stop during a power cut for safety; add a battery (hybrid system) only if power is needed during cuts.
